LOS ANGELES, CA- Jordan Matsumoto sheds silent tears as he reads the fated email from management at Anti Social Social Club, affectionately dubbed by many in the streetwear community as the Anti Shipping Shipping Club. The ASSC “ASSC x Snake” hoodie, a much-hyped item that released in the early days of February 2014, has finally been slated for shipping. “I can remember the very day I bought that hoodie. I was still rockin’ my black and white Jordan 1s, there was so much stock that I copped four pairs of those back in the day, and I knew that this snake hoodie and those shoes would be such a fit.” ASSC, headed and initially designed entirely by streetwear legend Neek Lurks, has had a contentious relationship with their customer base in the past, as of right now reportedly owing over 1,000 customers merchandise purchased and not shipped.
Around the two year mark for the wait time on these hoodies, Lurks alleged in a twitter rant that UPS and their hoards of hypebeast drivers who only wore Bape and other competing brands are to blame for the shipping delays. Lurks chose not to comment when UPS informed him of the pay and benefits of UPS drivers, which DSR has discovered to barely cover a roof over their heads, let alone designer hoodies. Many customers, such as Matsumoto, see this new development as a positive ray of light in the midst of all these bad customer relations. “C’mon man, four years is nothing. If we can wait that long for something nobody cares about, like a new president or whatever, we can wait that long for some sweet designer hoodies too.”
